Having seen Juno, I hope that more women will consider adoption.  But it takes a cultural change before society will stop judging women for conceiving accidentally, even though a large proportion of babies are born after unplanned pregnancies.

I worked in Ghana years ago, and we regularly saw young women with severe pelvic infections from trying to induce abortion with herbs/sticks etc.  That is the inevitable outcome of refusing to support desperate women.</description>
